Louis holds a Masters degree in Internal Auditing from the University of Pretoria and a PhD from the University of the Free State. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and holds a Certification in Risk Management Assurance. He currently coordinates and supervises Masters and Doctoral students in the Department of Auditing at the Tshwane University of Technology. His academic interest revolves around ICT for auditing from where he has published various articles in local and international journals. Louis is an author of the IIA Global Exam Writing Team for the professional international certification in internal auditing (CIA). He is currently a member of the Editorial Board of Meditari Accountancy Research Journal, the Editorial Board of the Southern African Journal of Accountability and Auditing Research and serves as an editorial panel member of the scientific committee for the international peer reviewed conference on Accounting and Finance Innovation (ICAFI). He also serves as an editorial panel member of the scientific committee for the international peer reviewed conference on (ICT for Auditing). He currently serves as the IAEP coordinator for the department of auditing at TUT as part of the global accreditation by the Institute of Internal Auditors and is an Academic Advocate for the international professional body for Information Technology Auditing (ISACA).
